“It often takes policy changes to incentivise companies to develop new solutions. The TDA gives the opportunity to address new policy needs together. Finding a common solution to issues – this is what led to the creation of the Communities of Interest, members coming together to address topics that interest them.”

Barry Howe, former Director of Sustainable Mobility at Alstom, shares his personal views on transport decarbonisation after 25 years in the power and transport sectors.

In the fireside chat, Mr. Howe explains how Alstom has pioneered many initiatives on sustainable mobility through its products— improving efficiency, reducing power consumption, and introducing innovations such as the first hydrogen train.

Some of his proudest moments include Alstom’s commitment to source 100% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2025.

Mr. Howe also talks about the benefits of working with the other C’s (countries, cities/regions) for Alstom, his hopes on the progress of TDA members, and the future of the transport sector.
