TARGETS AND ACTIONS ON TRANSPORT DECARBONISATION

EDP – Energias de Portugal ranks among Europe’s major electricity operators, as well as being one of Portugal’s largest business groups. The company has set target to reduce specific emissions of GHG by 75% by 2030 (2005 levels) and exceed 75% renewable installed capacity by 2020. It also aims to reach 100% of electric light vehicles in its fleet by 2030 (estimated CO2 emissions reduction of 70%).

EDP has been providing customers with continuous access to energy efficiency products and services to reduce overall consumption by at least 1 TWh (against 2015 levels). It has invested 200 million Euro in innovative projects on clean energy technologies. It has also partnered with 13 EV manufacturers to promote electric mobility.

  • Partnership with Repsol for the installation of fast charging stations (10 installed, 3 more planned)
  • Protocol with Portuguese NGO “Zero” for a Sustainable Mobility platform
  • Partnership with BMW Brazil to create an electric corridor between Rio de Janeiro and São Paul
