First TDA Academy Series: Executive Education of transport decarbonisation webinar https://tda-mobility.org/first-tda-academy-series-executive-education-of-transport-decarbonisation-webinar/ Wed, 21 Jul 2021 02:53:52 +0000 https://tda-mobility.org/?p=7579

First TDA Academy Series: A focus on the TDA’s executive curriculum on transport decarbonisation

On 15 September, the TDA, together with the University of Clermont Auvergne in France, held the webinar entitled Bridging the gap in executive education of transport decarbonisation. This webinar zoomed in on the curriculum produced by the Executive Education Community of Interest initiated by Portugal in 2019 and created in association with academia, research institutions and other partners to offer active professionals and graduate students an opportunity to become leaders in the field. Currently, the curriculum has been utilised at the University of Clermont-Auvergne.

The webinar  touched on key elements of the curriculum, what has been done so far by the entities that have implemented it and discussed the next steps on how to rediscover this key product of the TDA.

Check out the curriculum here.

Webinar's Agenda

I. What was done in the Executive Education Community of Interest – Presented by Mr. Pedro Filipe, Advisor at the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Mobility at Ministry of Environment and Climate Action, Government of Portugal

  • Purpose and objectives of the CoI
  • Curriculum – process and content
  • Portugal – engaging professionals in transport decarbonisation

II. What has been done so far at the University of Clermont – Auvergne – Presented by Dr. Patrick Oliva, Project instigator of «OrbiMob’ Clermont Auvergne»

  • Collaboration with the University
  • Roll out of curriculum and programming
  • Academic perspective – utility and educational value of the curriculum
  • Truths & Myths about transport decarbonisation for decision-makers

III. How to move on forward – Interactive part – Jamboard

  • Members and academia partners to ask questions or comment about previous points
  • Provide insights on how this work can be integrated into other university/academic programmes in partnership with members
  • Challenges related to training present and future decision-makers – gather feedback

Join us in this important event! Your insights, experiences and work would add great value to this discussion.

TDA Annual Meeting 2021

We would like to thank everyone who attended the TDA Annual Meeting 2021 and for bringing such wonderful expertise and experiences about transport decarbonisation to the discussion! It was certainly a fruitful, constructive and inspiring meeting!

This key gathering of the alliance truly put on display the breadth of projects and actions  that have been initiated by members and partners. Despite the challenges related to COVID-19, you are all continuing to push for the transformation of transport. We certainly look forward to another year of meaningful insights, initiatives and teamwork!

Once again, we take this opportunity to welcome our new members: British Columbia, EVBox, Lille and Mobycon, and we are excited about what the future holds with you as valuable members of the TDA.

Please find below the opening remarks of TDA Chair, Stientje van Veldhoven, Minister for the Environment of the Netherlands and a summarised presentation of the great achievements that were developed throughout the year presented in our two tour de table sessions during the event.

We take this opportunity to congratulate all who have contributed to make this meeting a reality.

TDA Participation in the Talanoa Dialogue https://tda-mobility.org/tda-participation-in-the-talanoa-dialogue/ Thu, 24 May 2018 03:46:20 +0000 http://tda.kojects.com/?p=153

Talanoa Dialogue
For Climate Ambition

At the 23rd Conference of the Parties (COP 23) in November 2017, Parties endorsed the “Talanoa Dialogue” – an inclusive, participatory and transparent process based on a Fijian traditional approach to discussion to be held throughout 2018 to take stock of the adequacy of climate action against country pledges and explore options for enhanced action with support from non-Party actors, opening new opportunities for the global transport community in the months ahead.

TDA Members were active in the day-long Talanoa Dialogues held on 6th May 2018 during the Bonn Climate Change Conference. SLoCaT Interim Secretary General Holger Dalkmann spoke on behalf of the TDA on Question 2 “Where do we want to go” in one of the 7 parallel dialogues. Other TDA Members such as Luxemburg and the Netherlands also addresses transport in their interventions.  Many thanks to TDA colleagues for facilitating contacts with their negotiating teams to help spread the TDA messages.

Transport was mentioned in most rooms in each session. Israel gave significant attention to transport – providing details of the toll road in Tel Aviv – with the revenues dedicated to transport improvements.  Gabon spoke of car users as an example of  the contrasts between those destroying the climate – and those in Gabon living in poverty and suffering the consequences of Climate Change.  Latvia shared its biofuels obligation, vehicle inspections and public procurement.

For more information, please see the official input submitted by the TDA to the Talanoa Dialogue.
