The City of los Angeles joins
the TDA
On 6 June, 2022, at the welcome reception of the TDA Annual Meeting 2022 at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI), Mr. Eric Garcetti, Mayor of the City of Los Angeles, formally announced that his city has become a member of the Transport Decarbonisation Alliance.
Currently, LA is a pioneer in cutting carbon emissions. City leaders have adopted aggressive emission standards, as established in their Clean Air Action Plan, and surpassed the Mayor’s goal of installing 1,000 public EV chargers ahead of schedule. In the process, they have helped generate more than 35,000 green jobs to date. TDA looks forward to what this collaboration will bring.
On their way to achieving transportation-related carbon emission reductions, City of Los Angeles leaders find joining initiatives like the TDA helpful, given the TDA’s main purpose of contributing to a worldwide acceleration toward sustainable transport systems.
During the event, Ms. Liane Randolph, Chair of the TDA, welcomed the City of Los Angeles to the alliance and reaffirmed the importance of taking action and following clear regulatory standards to achieve transport decarbonisation. She also emphasized the importance of taking advantage of current momentum to move forward on strategies that reduce the carbon emissions from the transport sector.
