Portugal released the National Strategy for Pedestrian Active Mobility (7th country in Europe)
The National Strategy for Active Pedestrian Mobility (ENMAP), aims to define policies and guidelines to increase the modal share of walking and at the same time reduce the sedentary lifestyle index by 2030.
ENMAP intends to increase the home and work journeys on foot from 16.4% (2011 Census) to 35% in seven years and, in the same period, decrease by 15 percentage points the sedentary lifestyle index, which the General Directorate of Health (DGS) calculated to be 46.4% in 2020.
