François Bausch, Claude Turmes, and Marc Reiffers presented the first public ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles.

On January 20, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Mobility and Public Works, Minister for Energy, and General Director of Creos Luxembourg, presented the first public ultra-fast charging station for electric vehicles in Luxembourg, called ‘SuperChargy.’ Ensured by the distribution network operator, Creos, the deployment of 88 ultra-fast charging stations (160-320 kW) for 100% electric cars is being planned until 2023.

88 ultra-fast charging stations spread over 19 stations: coverage for all regions of the country

Spread throughout the country, 19 ultra-fast charging stations will be installed on motorways’ service areas and the other main axes of the country. The first two SuperChargy terminals have been operational since January 20, 2021, at the University of Luxembourg.

Equipped with the SuperChargy logo intended to identify the terminals of the national system, these ultra-fast charging stations can be used with the same means of identification as the original ‘Chargy’ terminals and will, as from the second quarter of 2021, be equipped with a system allowing payment with debit and credit cards. All Chargy and SuperChargy stations will continue to distribute electricity produced from 100% renewable energy.
