Within the framework of the Explorers Club’s Global Exploration Summit (GLEX) on 6 July 2021, Mr. Pedro Gaspar – Future Business Technology Director at CEiiA, shared how CEiiA’s AYR is helping cities tackle the challenges of climate change. 

AYR is a platform that allows people to earn credits for each kilometer traveled sustainably, when opting for sustainable mobility modes (using the train instead of a car for example). The application quantifies the carbon emissions saved and converts this behaviour into a currency, AYR tokens.

‘It’s clear that when we think about the future of our world, we have quite a few challenges ahead of us. One of those challenges is that we have about 8 years to reduce 55% of our carbon emission in Europe, the questions are how can we move fast? And move exactly to where? There is a way for us to start and there is a way for us to accelerate this transition. This is why in CEiiA we created AYR’, Mr. Gaspar remarked.
