EDP is looking to make EV charging easier to increase their use in Spain and Portugal
According to the EPA, over the past 50 years, carbon emissions have increased by about 90%, with emissions from fossil fuel combustion and industrial processes contributing about 78% of the total greenhouse gas emissions. Under the current circumstances, it is imperative to address energy generation and consumption to reduce CO2 emissions globally. That is how Energias de Portugal, EDP, and Chargetrip, a smart EV routing company, have decided to work together to support sustainable transportation by making electric mobility more efficient. Working towards providing tools that make routing and charging easier and reduce anxiety.
The innovation consists of EDP and Chargetrip developing a new type of routing engine that allows them to calculate any route for any EV, anywhere, including the optimal charge stations in between which creates effectively predictable route planning. It will improve the user experience of charging and driving in Spain and Portugal, which will increase the adoption of EV driving and, this way, increase the usage of all the EV services of EDP
EDP is a clear example of an organization that always works on the creation of innovative initiatives that provide real solutions to climate change and transport decarbonisation issues with global impact and always look to potentiate these innovations.
