Lisbon continues to motivate a growth in electric mobility
Lisbon is continuously working on different strategies to make its infrastructure, transport, public space, energy supplies and environment greener, more sustainable and more people-friendly.
In line with the objective to be carbon-neutral by 2050, Lisbon is now implementing:
1) Two fast-charge centres in different locations of the city. In each of these centres, it is possible to charge up to 12 vehicles simultaneously. With the installation of these new stations, there is more and more availability and probability for the user to find a charging point at any time.
Lisbon’s plan for 2021 is to install 30 Charging Stations on the public highway, guaranteeing at least one station per parish, motivating a growing transition to electric mobility.
2) The implementation of 34 bike counting sensors, which will collect information on the number of cycles crossing the cycle paths in real-time. These sensors will allow us to analyze the true use and relevance of the cycling structures that have been created in Lisbon.
