With the ambition of transforming into a sustainable city, the Camara de Lisboa is strengthening two programs to encourage active mobility: “Lisbon Cyclable” and “The Road is Yours”. 

Measures include increasing space on sidewalks for pedestrians, blocking transit routes for cars, reducing speed on residential streets as well as the installation of parking lots with reduced continuous car parking.

With a €3 million mobility fund and the support of the municipality, they are going to purchase conventional, electric and cargo bikes, as well as create 2750 parking spaces for bicycles.
