Scooters powered by hydrogen circulate around France

Today zero emission scooters powered by hydrogen are circulating around France. This is part of the national decarbonisation strategy, as well as a means of fighting air and noise pollution.

Besides running on hydrogen, the scooters use removable green hydrogen cartridges the size of a large can that are very easily replaceable that just clip on and off in a few seconds.

There is no need to refuel at a charging station – one need only go to one of the dedicated vending machines. A cartridge can be recharged thousands of times. Its lifespan is estimated at more than ten years. At the end of its life, it can be fully recycled.

Even though these scooters represent a great step forward for France in terms of its reduction of carbon emissions and use of hydrogen, it is just the beginning. The French Government has announced that 7 billion euros from now until 2030 will be dedicated to this effort.
