TARGETS AND ACTIONS ON TRANSPORT DECARBONISATION
Brisa Auto-Estradas de Portugal is the largest private transport infrastructure company in Portugal and operates over 1600 km of roads. They are a member of the International Transport Forum’s Corporate Partnership Board and participates actively in the development of the Decarbonizing Transport tool.
Brisa has the goal to achieve a 50% reduction of fleet related CO2 emissions by 2025 (compared to 2009 levels) and to have a 50% increase of CO2 efficiency by 2025 (compared to 2007 levels).

- Active traffic management: Since 2004, Brisa has implemented a fully integrated traffic management system, covering its 1600 km network, improving congestion and its impacts.
- ABC da Condução: Eco-efficiency driving training program directed to all employees of Brisa Group. Fuel consumption was cut by 12% in the first year.
- Fleet optimization: EV and PHEV account for 4,81% of Brisa’s vehicle fleet.
- Via Verde: Via Verde mobility digital ecosystem is a comprehensive set of applications to meet mobility needs in Portugal. From a traditional transporter paying motorway tolls attached to the windshield of the car to a car sharing service with local customization allowing customers to register with existing Via Verde login and payment, this digital ecosystem offers multiple advanced mobility services – all completely digital and smartphone-based.
