Alstom develops and markets systems, equipment and services for the transport sector and offers a range of solutions (from high-speed trains to metros, tramways and e-buses), passenger solutions, customised services (maintenance, modernisation), infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility solutions.
The company has set target to reduce 10% carbon footprint intensity by 2020 (2014 baseline) and reduce energy consumption of solutions by 20% by 2020 (2014 baseline). It has developed a methodology assessment tool on down-stream emissions from Alstom’s product/solutions. Alstom is also part of the International Railway Association (UIC) Low Carbon Sustainable Rail Transport Challenge, one of the 21 Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action (MPGCA) Transport Initiatives.

Green electricity: Fully supplied with green electricity in the UK and Belgium. Its manufacturing sites at Hornell (USA) and Barcelona (Spain) have recently gone 100% renewable in terms of electricity supply. In France, all the sites except Petit-Quevilly, derive as at least 30% of their electricity from renewable energy sources. In Germany all the sites are supplied with more than 30% of green energy.
