International Transport Forum (ITF)

Leipzig, Germany, May 2024

TDA co-sponsored an ITF side event entitled “Financing Pathways for Global Zero-Emission-Trucks – Getting It Done.”

The discussion focused on solutions to overcoming the upfront costs of zero-emission trucks through expanded financing. It was led by The Netherlands, CALSTART/Drive to Zero, World Resources Institute, and the TDA, with support from the Climate Group and ZEVWISE partners including UNEP, World Bank, SFC, the ICCT, WBCSD.

COP28

DUbai, United arab emirates, December 2023

On December 6, 2023, TDA hosted an evening reception at the 28th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP28), bringing together transportation experts and leaders from around the world. This reception provided a unique platform for attendees to meet and learn from professionals dedicated to decarbonising their transportation systems. 152 participants joined this evening reception, fostering connections to help advance transportation decarbonisation worldwide.

TDA Annual Meeting

POrto, Portugal | November 2023

On November 8-10, 2023, TDA members and partners convened at member CEiiA’s office in Porto, Portugal, to connect, learn, collaborate, and explore the TDA’s future. Conversations focused on understanding how a network of people can collaborate on shared goals related to transportation decarbonization, developing connections and deepening trust among members, and exploring opportunities for participants to support each other’s work and take action together on behalf of the TDA’s shared purpose.

Climate Week NYC

New York City, New York | September 2023

On September 19, TDA co-organized a side event at New York Climate Week in collaboration with the Smart Freight Centre, UC Davis, the Government of the Netherlands, CALSTART Drive to Zero, and the Center for Law, Energy and the Environment. This event brought together industry experts, policymakers, researchers, and transport professionals to discuss the challenges and potential solutions for electrifying medium and heavy-duty fleets.

Sharm el -sheikh, EGYPT | November 2022

TDA hosted an evening members-only reception, conducted a press conference featuring California Air Resources Board executive officer Dr. Steven Cliff, and co-organized an ITF side event focused on overcoming challenges to deploying zero-emission trucks, co-led by CALSTART/Drive to Zero.

On 6 – 18 November 2022, Egypt hosted the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, building on previous successes and paving the way  for future ambition. It proved a great opportunity for all stakeholders to rise to the occasion and tackle the global challenge of climate change, facilitated by Egypt for the African continent.

This brief is a companion to the Zero Emission Vehicles Transition Council (ZEVTC) white paper assessing electric vehicle charging infrastructure and public investments in decarbonizing transport. Members of the ZEVTC are committed to collectively addressing key challenges in the transition to ZEVs.
